On the 10 June Australian amateurs Darryl Milika and Pat Nicholas imaged a bright spot in Neptune's northern hemisphere. They used a C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain, with IR, R, G and B filters. Shown here is one of the discovery images that clearly shows the storm on Neptune close to the northern limb.
A series of images taken from 19:45 UT until 21:02 UT showed the spot moved with the rotation of the planet.
Neptune lies in the zodiacal constellation of Aquarius at:
RA 23h 03m 24s Dec –7 01’ 24”
